Propagandizing Cannot Attract Public Ballots

Seemingly, the candidates give lip service to democratic movement. Their diehard supporters and members of their campaigns are a vehicle for propagandizing against each other so as to attract the public supports and ballots. This challenge loomed large with the second round presidential election. The two competitive teams focused more on illustrating the weak points of each other rather than explaining their own future agenda. Such negative activities, certainly, carry weight in a multi-national country.

The competitive teams tried muddying the water through discussing the sore points of the nation. They redirected the public sentiments to the past history so as to blacken the reputation of each other. In other words, the members of the presidential campaigns sifted through the history to extract weak points about their rivals. Posters were widely spread among the people against both the candidates’ teams by the campaigners.

Since democracy is defined the rule of law, such activities put democracy under question. In a democratic society, one is allowed to practice his/her rights and freedoms within the limitation of law and order. But if such practices disrespect the others’ rights or freedoms, they have to be stopped in no times.

In such a sensitive situation, the politicians are supposed to let the bygones be bygones. They will not have to exploit the public sentiments through sensational propagandas. No doubt, Afghanistan past a gory history behind which resulted to the sacrifices of one nation or another. Such a bloody history left a deep scar in the hearts of our nation. Therefore, it would be more tactful of the presidential candidates to put their fingers on the pain rather than adding insult to injury.

Citizens expect the candidates beyond being involved in such issues. In other words, these activities seem really disappointing for the people. If the candidates show no concern and take no approach in curbing the spread of the current propagandas, how they manage the bigger challenges they will face when winning the election!

Hence, the candidates are humbly asked to keep a lid on the issue as soon as possible. If the current trend continues further, it will result into serious challenge. Thus, they are to prevent their campaigners from negative movements. Of course, the more democratic movement will be the more reputable for the teams and will attract the trust of the public easily.
