Israel-Palestin Conflict Resulted in Human Losses

The world over have witnessed aerial raids, continuous shelling in civilian enclaves by Israeli gunship helicopters and jets in retaliation for several rockets fired by Hamas from Palestinian side. According to reports since July 8, Hamas has fired more than 1,200 rockets at Israel, that hardly could have claimed any life. Nevertheless, the Isralaeli aerial raids continued till the 10th day of its campaign, taking the death toll to 227 and  wounding 1,678, according to local sources. This is deliberate atrocity and violation of war laws, given direct bombardments on the civilian populations, are recorded.

This, certainly, is the worst human tragedy where several hundred thousand unarmed civilians are bombed, and the incident goes unnoticed in the greater part of the world. The unfounded hastening observed to subside the widely flickering flame of hostility is not the same for many other less burning issues, and is devoid of resting to rhetorics of condemnation. A Gaza-based human rights group says more than 80 percent of them were civilians.

The deadened world, finally unzipped their lips, as Israel’s blatant brutality received condemnation from selective part of the world. Consequently, no paced diplomatic efforts were undertaken, to end the hostilities between Israel and Hamas. The US President Barack Obama phoned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, showed a degree of willingness to facilitate the cessation of hostilities. No, pressure building tactics and strategies were adopted to put down the fire, endlessly engulfing innocent Palestinians.

However, bold initiatives were taken by Egypt to make rivals come to cease-fire. Previously, Egypt had communicated with all sides to halt violence against civilians and called on them to continue with the truce agreement signed in November 2012, notwithstanding; these efforts couldn’t materialize subsequent to Hamas turning down the possibility of a truce. Hamas, the movement that rules Gaza, had rejected initial Egyptian efforts for a full ceasefire, saying it had not been included in the discussions.

Hamas’s stance seem not to be rational, hence can be considered equal partaker in the ongoing tragedy, where the innocent Phalestaian render to be the losers only. Hamas must have demonstrated rational discourse, opting more congenial course of action, or should have come out of civilian population whilst continuing their operation against the Israeli offensive. The civilian shield is unjustifiable act, the Hamas militia is pursuing. Nevertheless, to save casualties, the international community should intensify efforts to affect an immediate ceasefire.

Lastly, the mounting pressure of humanitarian organization UN, brokered a truce for just for just five hours. In the light agreed ceasefire on humanitarian grounds, the Israeli and Hamas announced it would halt its bombardment of Gaza between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm local time. Reprotedly, the Israel showed resolute stance to start ground offensive against the Hamas militias, whereby civilian shield will offer countless sacrifices. It is undoubtedly stated that, If the ceas-fire doesn’t crystallize more human losses should be expected.
