The Taliban Turn More Revengeful in Ghazni

The Taliban now confront Afghan people. Over the last ten years, the militants have been killing school teachers and children, destroying roads and bridges, burning schools and kidnapping those who work with the government or international organizations. The people expected their government and international forces to provide security for them but unfortunately Karzai's government and foreign forces failed to fulfill this expectation.

As a result, the Taliban increased their terrorist activities. Afghan government did not only make effort to stop these brutal militants but also tried to wash the stains of brutality from the Taliban's name by calling them as unhappy brothers.

In the meanwhile, Ministry of Education has been saying that the Taliban have changed their education policy and would no longer burn schools. But the bitter fact is that the Taliban intensified their anti-education activities this year in Ghazni province.

Grown tired of the Taliban's restrictions, people in Ghazni revolted against the militants because they did not want to keep their children deprived of education, and their healthcare centers and bazaars to be closed. The Taliban have become more revengeful now.

In a recent brutality, the Taliban have killed five local people in Ander district of Ghazni province who had revolted against them. The Taliban have claimed the responsibility for the killing. The movement of local people is spontaneous.

If they are not supported, they may be targeted brutally by the revengeful Taliban. Afghan government and international forces must support these local people against the evil force that wants schools, clinics and bazaars to be closed in those areas.

There is no doubt that the Taliban's brutality over almost the last two decades has made them the most hated force among Afghan people. Earlier this week, the Taliban killed five members of a family in the Northern Province of Faryab when they refused to accommodate the militants.

The victims included three women and two men.But unfortunately it is only President Hamid Karzai that continues to call them his brothers. President Karzai must begin to understand that he may also be driven out by the people if he continues to associate himself with the Taliban and ignore the people of Afghanistan that suffer in the brutal hands of Taliban.
