Afghanistan is a society where poverty excels and illiteracy rules, the country is full of tragedies and misfortunes. The statistics of child abuse is a worldwide alarming fact. But in Afghanistan in comparison to the other part of the world, child abuse graph hits a higher range.

Sexual harassment, sexual assertion, play boy (Bacha Bazi), early age force marriage and kidnapping child for smuggling purposes are the common child abuses, practiced in Afghan society. Child abuse such as the ones mentioned above is considered to be a part of Afghan ancient culture. This type of child abuse is usually practiced in northern and southern parts of the country.

Afghan children and women have been the primary vulnerable segments during the decades of war. There are many families who have lost their man of the family during the last decades of war and the family's income is totally relied on children and women.

As long as the children are not able to work as manual labor, they do not have any other alternative rather than selling themselves to the wealthy warlords and men. The children are hired for entertainment and they are being dressed in ladies' dress and forced to dance in parties on special occasions such marriage and bachelor parties.

Poverty is the main reason which makes some children to appreciate the abuse; simultaneously, illiteracy is the reason that encourages some aged scandals to practice such inhuman acts. Moreover in most regions of the country, women are covered in Burqas which is another source of promotion for men to dress boys in women dress and use them for sexual assertions.

All the reasons are considerable facts, but what makes the reasons more legitimate is the lack of security. Since the child abuse cases are usually recorded in insecure zones, it does matter to note security issues as the root of the causes behind the children abuse in the country.
