Afghanistan – A Culturally Rich Country

Geographical borders, language, religion and culture are the cause and factors that distinguish countries from each other as result many different nations, races and ethnicities come into being. Subsequently these major factors lead a nation into civilization and modernization.

In the queues of civilized and multi-cultural countries, Afghanistan also has many things to put out and be proud of. For instance this country has a rich museum that contains a lot of historic points. The national museum of Afghanistan was one of the most important one in the region before the collapse of Najeebullah government in 1992.

Over the next few years the museum was looted by different groups. In 1993 it was struck by rocket fire. The head of the national museum testifies this bitter truth. “We heard the news that the national museum was hit by a rocket and all the relics of the museum came down in front of my eyes”, said the head of national museum.

Throughout the history if we shuffle the pages of our past we will come to know that Afghanistan has always been a culturally rich country in the region, if not exaggerated, in the whole Asia. The silky way is another obvious example in the history of Asia that proves the fact and figures that Afghanistan’s culture and civilization have always been a step ahead of our vicinity.

Let’s not forget that Afghanistan has been struck by civil war for more than three decades that unfortunately led to destruction of our historical places, things and landmarks.

The cultural, civilization and landmarks of our homeland starts from the time when Afghanistan was ruled by our ancestors called Moguls, and many more races. If we put a glimpse over the pages of history we will come to know that the people of Afghanistan not only in Afghanistan but as well outside of their country have put a landmark to prove their modernization.

UNESCO an organization for education, science and cultural promotion has always praised Afghanistan for its rich and multiple cultures. A couple of months ago Ghazni, a province of Afghanistan, was named as the centre of Islamic civilization. However there is much needed to be done in order to save and revive the culture of Afghanistan.
