Displacement and Casualties

As the conflict and violence continues undiminished, the consequent troubling situation has rendered many local people to be displaced. With the wave of displacement and civilian casualties, many humanitarian and human rights bodies have been deeply concerned and worried about more and more displacement if the conflict continues so unabated.

There is dire need for adopting mechanisms to minimize the number of civilian casualties and displacement through putting leverage pressure on all parties to the conflict to avoid unwitting complicity in the strategies that bring about disaster for the local community and cause civilian casualties.

Government and International security forces blamed insurgents for civilian casualties and militants blame foreign forces for causality.

On the other hand, continuing insecurity and armed conflict in Afghanistan are contributing to already low levels of government and development assistance, and to high levels of continuing displacement and the displacement of the families, in terms, makes them more vulnerable to other calamities and problems. What is most important is this that the crisis should be prevented from continuing to be deepening and should not further raise steadily the number of the victims.

International community accuse Taliban for breaking the international humanitarian laws in terms of civilian losses in the country, as over the past year, the fighting had already triggered the displacement of tens of thousands of people, leaving them in misery, without homes or livelihood.
