Propaganda against BSA

The Loya Jirga is going to be held from Nov.21 to Nov 24. Around 2500 influential figures from inside and outside of the government will take part to decide whether to sign a Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) with the United States or not. BSA is part of the bigger strategic Cooperation Contract which was signed by heads of Nations, President Barack Obama of the US and President Karzai of the Afghanistan last year. But due to differences over the details of a framework under which the US armies should continue being in the country its destiny has remained unclear.

One of the key controversial issues was the impunity from legal persecution for US army personnel. During last few weeks, supporters of neighboring countries tried their best to oppose permanent US military bases, arguing such thing is against the national and Islamic pride of Afghanistan. Or even some strangely tried to present an awkward security analysis saying that US military presence will instigate neighboring countries to interfere in domestic affairs due to their enmity with US, hence, prolong insecurity and instability.

All the arguments look so fake and baseless and importantly in benefit of others for whom Afghanistan’s peace and stability indeed have no meaning at all. They have proved that the only thing they are looking for in the country is their interests which unfortunately were achieved through destabilizing the country. Regrettably, they, during past decades, never cared to reassess their policies and at least avoid stoking crisis here. For them even if our country burns, they would always remain out of flames.

Now, some figures, who have received money from the same countries, are trying to prevent the signing of BSA, which has tremendous political, economic and security benefits. These figures close their eyes to the miseries of the past. They do not understand if today they can televise their ideas is merely due to the system created by the very support of US. If these gentlemen look to few days before the US military intervention in 2001, they will understand during that time people did not have the right to even practice their religious rituals.

So, it is humbly requested from all sides not to throw dust on their memories of a decade earlier. They should understand that US military presence will not cause others to intervene in our affairs.
