Need of Controlling Borders against Infiltration!

After the media reports of a possible military action of Pakistani Army against Taliban and other militants in its northern areas, all the Afghan areas bordering that particular place has come under serious concern of the increased infiltration of militants who would then run away and try to enter our borders. After Mian Nawaz Sharif was elected the premiere of Pakistan in 2013, he announced his policy of conducting negotiations with all the militant groups especially TTP or Tehreeke Taliban, Pakistan. In this connection, an All-Parties Conference was also called in which all prominent Pakistani leaders agreed to carry out a series of effective talks with Taliban so that the increasing wave of violence and terrorism may be brought to a logical end.

But all these feelings vanished when Taliban targeted some high-ranked military officers of Pakistan army and later on started a series of violent and bloodstained terrorist attacks like suicide bombings, bomb explosions and targeted killings. All these acts of Taliban infuriated not only the government and military of our neighboring country but the masses also started talking in favor of a military operation to curb these anti-state and perilous elements. Although Pakistani government has established a four member negotiation committee to start talks with Taliban but it seems that, sooner or later, there would be a full-scale military operation against Taliban in Pakistan.

If that condition happened, it is feared that most of them would try to escape the neighboring Afghanistan. At many points, the border between the two countries is covered by thick forest and as people living on both the sides of border share relations with each other so it is very difficult to stop the movement of people across the border. Due to the tribal nature of the area, the writ of government is also not very strong in these areas. It is the reason why, these areas have always been under great violence and a thriving point for terrorist groups. At the same time, these groups get weapons and financial assistance from people living on both sides of the border. Due to the increased sentimental religious attachment of people of the area, they are very much attached to the Taliban and other military groups that work here for the name of religion.

It is needed that precautionary steps should be taken so that terrorists escaping from Pakistan should not be able to enter our country as they would be more dangerous here and would greatly destabilize the already faltering security conditions of the country. It is hoped that our politicians and top security officers would consider these points and would take action accordingly.
