Increasing Restaurants and Hospitals!

The only entertainment available for the residents of Kabul is eating in different restaurants with the family members. Although millions of dollars were allocated for the establishment of different entertainment facilities but unfortunately, these dollars found their ways to the private pockets of a few people and entertainment facilities are still as unimproved as they were in the beginning of this democratic setup more than 12 years ago. Anyhow, this increasing trend of eating in restaurants has also given birth to so many other complications. Except for a limited number of restaurants, there are so many problems associated with these restaurants. Some restaurants target only high end customers and their prices are not affordable for the majority public.

On the other hand, majority of the restaurants are not serving with quality food and prices charged are also not reasonable. At one hand, if the condition shows the limitedness of choices for the citizens, it also shows the absence of any kind of action by the authorities who are responsible for checking these restaurants. Anyhow, it is also a fact that these restaurants are helping in the letter and spirit to provide with consistent number of patients to the hospitals. It is the reason why, two kinds of businesses are on rise and we can find their outlets on every corner of the city. One is of restaurants and other of hospitals. Just like the restaurants, the hospitals are also given a complete free hand to make different decisions like high fees, employ inexperienced and non-qualifying staff and technicians and many more. In a sense, the helpless people are left on the mercy of these strongly backed institutions in which one is chosen by people while people found themselves helpless to go for the second. Although there are so many big hospitals equipped with all the facilities but people don’t seem to trust them a lot. It is the reason why, people take their patients to these hospitals in case of minor problems while in case of major and complicated illnesses, they soon decide to go to India or Pakistan for better treatment. The condition of government-run hospitals is even worse than all these and only those contact these hospitals who cannot afford any private hospital at all.

In the coming years, it must be kept in mind that more and more investments should be done in the health sector so that reliable health services should be available for the majority of masses who are not in position to afford the expenses of private medical treatment.
