Role of An Individual in Country’s Future

Although we are all hopeful of the bright future of Afghanistan and we are making different guesses in this regard. Our experts and even common men are also busy in discussing different factors that might affect the future of our country. In this regard, most discussed and crucial is the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) which would decide upon the future economic and defense stability of the country. In the same way, the functions and activeness of newly elected president is also going to play a vital role in molding the future of the country. All these factors and many more are valid and worth mentioning and describing but it is a general fact that until and unless people don’t change themselves, no kind of positive change should be hoped. Every passing day, we hear about increasing intolerance, corruption, nepotism and other social evils in our society. Every member of our society is concerned about the future of our country and fear that our country may not again fall into despair and instability but it is a fact that no one is ready to think of the country and everyone always prefers his or her benefits when it comes to the benefits of the country.

We may think of so many factors responsible for the miserable conditions of the country and the countrymen but it is a fact that our personal greed, selfishness and absence of any practical love to the country is the main reason.

This problem is so deep-rooted that it would be very difficult to curb this problem from its roots. In this regard, a balanced education including of moral standards and religious obligations can play a vital role. Unfortunately, our educational curricula is not of the standards that should address this problem. On the other hand, educated academicians, philosophers or thinkers who can give a direction to the minds and thoughts of the society members are also not in good number or high caliber and even if they are present, they are not much active to bring any change.

On the other hand, it would be also impossible if we keep expecting each and everything from the government. Our government is already a very corrupt entity and having a look at the present scenario, we cannot expect any evident change even if the head of the state changes. In almost all the countries of the world, there were some people who took lead in thinking for the overall betterment of the society. In the same way, it is also necessary that every individual should think of bringing change in him or herself and develop a habit of preferring country on our personal interests. Until and unless this work is not done, we will keep suffering and there will be no ending to our problems and miseries.
