Future Depends on Upcoming Presidential Election

It has been revealed that particular groups inside and outside the country are really worried about a peaceful transition of power in the country. According to professional political analysts, the “hows” of upcoming presidential election is far important and vital in determining where the country might end up in future? In other words, the basis of future of Afghanistan lies in the way the power is transferred from President Karzai to his successor. The continuous and deadly attacks in Kabul reveal the intelligence war behind. The series of attacks on strategic regions reflect the intelligence war which is aimed to pervert the upcoming elections.

The polls made by some organizations within small or large extent show deep ground changes in the country which can work as untapped humanitarian resources in the future if they get the chance to be exploited by sympathetic leaders committed to national interests. The widespread support for elections and fading color of ethnicity, language, religion and, importantly, improvement of political conscience of people are the most important signs that the country will move on the right direction.

However, people generally complain about their representatives and lack of commitment to promises they make, but deep down in the society people want nothing from the government except the restoration of peace and stability. The new generation is much self-oriented. During past few years, they have revealed that can hold large steps in business, political and educational spheres without the support of government. There are tremendous examples that the new generation is now not waiting for anyone to do something for them. What they ask the government is just preventing militants of despoiling the security situation.

The only challenges ahead of exploit of such a giant resource is the political condition. The smooth and peaceful transition of power indeed means the U-turn in the history of Afghanistan. And on the other hand, the disruption of the process will lead to a potential danger of heading to repeat of history of miseries and instability.

Hence, the groups which fear a prosperous Afghanistan that can challenge them from sport to education, to democracy and modern laws will not leave any stone unturned to disrupt the process. Despite series of attacks, there seems nothing serious to endanger the upcoming elections. Potential candidates are their best to win the hearts and minds of people through presenting concrete plans for the future. How traditional ethnic vote banks still weigh but cross communal popularity is a major hope for some candidates which can be another promising achievement of past few years.
