U.S. Sanctions not to Stop Iran’s Nuclear Work: Iran

TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that the U.S. sanctions against Iran will not stop Iranians from pursuing their rights over their nuclear program, the local English language satellite Press TV reported.
"This (using sanctions) is a wrong path that has been taken several times and it has no effect on our nation's will and resolution," Mehmanparast was quoted as saying.

Under no circumstances will Iran bow to Western countries' pressure and double standards, he said, adding that Western countries "have themselves come to the conclusion that such policy is no more effective and they are trying in vain."

Iran is under sanction pressures by the United States, European Union and other Western countries over its controversial nuclear program, which the West believes is moving to the atomic weaponry developments. However, Tehran denied the allegations, claiming that its nuclear program is for civilian and peaceful purpose. (Xinhua)
