Enemies Trying to Return Afghanistan into Terrorists’ Hideouts: Qanooni

KABUL - Chaired by First-Vice President, Mohammad Younus Qanooni, the council of ministers’ security committee (CMSC) held a meeting in which the ongoing situation and strengthening security for the second round of presidential election were discussed and what he said an ongoing attempt to return the country into terrorist’ hideouts.

Qanooni pointed out the efforts for ensuring security and said it will bear fruit if was based on comprehensive strategy and that the people still concerned over the attempts to once again return Afghanistan into the sanctuaries of terrorists. “Such vicious designs must be foiled.”

He also said that the elections have reached its critical stage and the government should do its best to facilitate people to use their suffrage like the first round of the elections to elect the country’s future leadership.

As per agenda, the minister for defense, minister for interior and chairman of National Directorate for Security (NDS) presented their reports on the country’s current situation and the participants after discussion took necessary decisions.

According to another report, the security challenges of Badakhshan and the ways to overcome it was discussed in the joint meeting of security official with Qanooni on the chair yesterday.

The meeting was also attended by parliamentarians from Badakhshan, with the vice president terming it a key province, where the harsh situation if not controlled would affect a peaceful region. (WNA)
