Civilian Killings an Unpardonable Act: Karzai

KABUL - President Hamid Karzai on Friday vehemently denounced the killing of civilians in western Ghor province.

Suspected militants disembarked 18 passengers from two vehicles on the Ghor-Kabul Highway and gunned down 14 of them.

Ghor police chief Brig. Gen. Ahmad Fahim said the incident took place in the Badgah area of Ferozkoh, the provincial capital.

“The enemies of the Afghans ruthlessly shot dead 15 innocent civilians, including three women and a child, this morning,” the president lamented.

In a statement from his office, Karzai condemned the incident as “an unforgiveable act of barbarism and against all religious and human values”.

While condoling with the bereaved families, the president directed security officials to investigate the killings and submit their report to his office. (Pajhwok)
