KABUL - The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Monday informed that the vote audit process was about to be completed and that the results of presidential runoff election would be announced soon.

IEC Spokesman Noor Mohammad Noor told reporters it was the responsibility of the commission to wrap up the recount and audit process as soon as possible, saying that the process was now in its final stages.

He said all suggestions of the candidates regarding the audit process were accepted and materialized. Everything would be made clear to the nation after the announcement of the results.

He said so far 450 ballot boxes containing more than 100,000 votes had been found invalid and final decision about more polling stations would be finalized in a meeting to be held tomorrow. (Pajhwok)
