Etisalat Celebrates its 8th Anniversary

KABUL - Etisalat marked its 8th Anniversary on Tuesday in Kabul. To commemorate the anniversary, Etisalat is offering its customers a wide range of offers like; free giveaways on every purchase of airtime, arranging shows at universities and organizing contests on company`s facebook page.

‘We celebrate eight years of achievements and partnership with our valued customers. Our customers will be the main part of this two week celebration, during which they will get exciting gifts and offers.’ Said Yasser Aboul Amayem, CCO of Etisalat Afghanistan.

It has been 8 years since Etisalat`s launch in 2007 in Afghanistan. From its inception, the company has been one of the leading telecom operators in the country.

During its operation in Afghanistan, Etialat has always put themselves on the leading edge of product development and innovation with passion.

In 2012, Etisalat introduced 3.75G services for the first time in Afghanistan. With the arrival of 3.75G services new opportunities knocked on Afghans` doors. Traditional ways of communications gave way to modern communication methods. Afghanistan experienced real internet speed and voice clarity for the first time. Communications become more reliable and easy. People became closer and businesses started to expand. Afghanistan was connected with the world and was one of the few Asian countries where 3.75G services was available.

In 2013, Etisalat introduced mHawala, the monetary transaction services. mHawal enabled customers to carry out all their monetary transactions from the comfort of their house or offices. Customers can pay their electricity bills, purchase goods, deposit, withdraw, receive and send cash, receive their salary and have access to their bank accounts.

Promoting cultural values of societies where Etisalat operates has always been at the core of Etisalat`s business strategy. Since its launch in Afghanistan, Etisalat has contributed in numerous charitable activities. Distribution of food packages during the month of Ramadan, donation of cash to areas affected by natural disasters in collaboration with Afghan government, organizing annual Quran contest and rehabilitation of Masjids are some of the endeavors made by Etisalat to promote Islamic and cultural values in Afghanistan.

Etisalat has been committed to provide Afghans not only with the world class voice and data services but also provide them with the opportunities where they can become self-sufficient and lead their country toward a better tomorrow. Etisalat`s Educational project is one of the initiatives that the company has taken to develop human resources in Afghanistan. Through this project, Etisalat pays for educational expenses of its undergraduate employees so that they can complete their Bachelor`s degree while working at Etisalat. Etisalat has also signed contract with an accredited university of China, subject to this contract Etisalat employees are sent for short term training courses to China.

Etisalat has empowered sports by sponsoring games from grass root to higher levels. Afghanistan National Cricket team, Volleyball, Cycling and Buzkashi have experienced their days of glories under Etisalat`s financial supports.
