Dr. Abdullah: Big Problems Being  Resolved Gradually

KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Thursday said the government faced some big problems and each would be resolved gradually.

Talking to provincial council members, tribal elders and civil society activists from southern Kandahar and Helmand provinces at his office, the CEO said after last year’s presidential election, Afghanistan had reached a situation where it had been left with no option but to form a unity government.

The visiting dignitaries spoke about the current political and security situations in their provinces and shared with the CEO problems like unemployment, poor economy, the distribution of the computerised ID cards, education, construction of highways and others, a statement from the CEO office said.

They urged Abdullah to give more attention to the education process and creation of jobs in remote parts of southern provinces besides intensifying efforts at improving security there. They also shared their concerns about growing joblessness and urged the government to pay attention in this regard.

Abdullah said the government would resolve all big problems gradually so as the situation moved in positive direction.

He said the government had devised some major plans, which once implemented, would strengthen security and do away with joblessness and improve economy.

He said the government was committed to carrying out balanced and uniform development across the country with emphasize on neglected areas.

Abdullah said there was no legal or other problems in launching the distribution of computerised ID cards and the government would take practical steps soon in this connection. (Pajhwok)
