NPC Endorses 8 Contracts worth Afs 3 bln

KABUL - The National Procurement Committee (NPC) has approved eight contracts worth around three billion afghanis.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said the NPC met under President Ashrf Ghani chairmanship on Saturday evening.

Around 12 government contracts were evaluated out of which eight worth 2.938 billion afghanis were approved, added the statement.

It said the contracts approved were about ration for Afghan National Police, logistics for hostels in Parwan province, and about water pipelines in Kabul city.

Kabul municipality’s fuel procurement contracts were also approved, but three more contracts were postponed for further evaluation.

The meeting also discussed facilities for investors and modernization of customs departments, said the statement. The president urged Finance Ministry officials to exercise utmost care in this regard.

Second Vice-president Mohammad Sarwar Danish, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah and ministers of finance, justice and economy were also in attendance. (Pajhwok)
