Karzai Turns Down Allocation of Fund for His Office

KABUL - Most recently, a decree was issued by the Presidential Palace to allocate separate fund for the office of the former President but Hamid Karzai has turned it down.

A statement released by Karzai states that he thanks the gratefulness of the president but looking at the small and low budget formation, he does not feel necessary that the former President’s office becomes independent budget unit.

Karzai says he does not want any privileges that are not mentioned in the constitution and other related laws.

The former President of Afghanistan does not have an office and working out of his home.

Karzai has also returned the government house that was given to him for living.

The house is named ‘Sapidar palace ‘ and is being used by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah as his office. (KP)
