Gov’t. Must Disclose Result of Kunduz Investigations: MPs

KABUL - The result of the investigations needs to be shared with the public instead of the Presidential Palace, a number of Afghan lawmakers urged.

“The result of the collapse needs to be disclosed, delays worry us, the result of the investigations needs to be shared with the public, no political deal should be made,” Sadeqi Nilizada a member of Afghan parliament from Daikundi province said.

Fakoor Behishti another member of Parliament from Bamyan province stated,” facts must not be kept in the dark, Kunduz collapse affected thousands, the perpetrators needs to be revealed”.

Presidential spokesman Sayed Zafar Hashimi says the National Security Council will review this report first.

“First of all the government will review this report, and then they will take practical actions along with the fact-finding commission members.”

After the collapse of Kunduz, President Ghani assigned a fact-finding commission to investigate independently.

Taliban fighters captured Kunduz province last month and the governmental forces forced Taliban to retreat after three days, but it give Taliban a military and political prize. (ATN)
