KABUL - Senators in the upper house of the parliament on Sunday called for holding of the Loya Jirga in order to overcome from the current situation in Afghanistan.

They have stated that problems are increasing day by day and it directs the country into complete crisis, demanding the Government to determine the date for holding of parliamentary and provincial council Election in the country.

Meanwhile a number of the senators in the upper house of the parliament have called for holding of tradition way of Election Loya Jirga.

Insecurity, poor economy, escaping of Afghans, interfering of neighboring countries, having no clear policy against other countries are the major concerns of the senators who have expressed during the session today.

Senator Sher Mohammad Akhunzada said,” Government should do about the ongoing situation, Afghanistan parliament are illegally working, the more it gets postponed the more it will ruin the country.”

However Zalmay Zabuli urged we should exert pressures on Government, to hold the Loya Jirga, the domestic and Foreign Policy of Afghanistan should be determined.”

Loya Jirga should be held according to Afghanistan constitution, Election calendar should be launched, so that we could hold parliamentary and provincial council election first deputy of senate house Mohammad AlamIzadyar said.

Senator Muhudding Munsef said,” the Government delays determining of the parliamentary election, it was the agreement of both Afghan leaders to hold the loya Jirga but they still delay it.”

After the establishing of the National Unity Government and based on the second paragraph of the agreement in coming two years in order to modify the Afghanistan constitution loya Jirga should be held. (ATN)
