KABUL - The Lower House of Parliament- Wolesi Jirga (WJ) on Wednesday said that the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders should be accountable to the nation.

“National Unity Government benefited nation’s trust with the hollow slogans and took control of the country. They should satisfactory reasons over their failure in releasing the abducted passengers,” said Abdul Rahman Rahmani, representative of Balkh.

“This is a dangerous message to the nation, government and political allies at the international level. We should consider just for a moment that how it feels that a nine years old girl beheads in front of her family,” said chairman of WJ, Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi.

The Parliament has also called on international organizations and the world’s countries, particularly the United States to stand by their commitments in securing Afghanistan.

This comes as that the hostages’ corpses were transferred from Zabul to Ghazni and then to Kabul.

Seven people including two women and a child have been beheaded by suspected Islamic State militants three days ago in Zabul province.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has condemned the killings of the group of Shi’ite Hazaras in the southern province of Zabul, the scene of deadly clashes between rival Taliban groups.
