Russia Launches  Scholarship Programme  for Afghan Diplomats

KABUL - The embassy of the Russian Federation in Kabul launched scholarship programme for diplomatic staff of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The first batch of Afghan diplomats representing different departments of the Foreign Ministry is scheduled to leave Kabul for Moscow on November 15.

The group of 10 diplomats will attend a two-week advanced training courses in the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Russian ambassador Alexander Mantytskiy highlights that the current scholarship programme is the first arrangement of such kind in the modern history of Afghan – Russian relations.

To mark this significant event the Russian Embassy in Kabul held a special reception.

During a ceremony organized at the Russian embassy on Wednesday to launch the programme, Ambassador Mantytskiy said that the launching of the programme symbolizes strengthening ties between Afghanistan and Russia as well as between Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

Moheb Spinghar, Foreign Ministry’s Director General of Institute of Diplomacy appreciated Russian Federation adding that that the scholarship programmes will play an important role in increasing professional skills of the diplomatic staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (KP)
