22 Villages Cleared of Insurgents in Faryab: Officials

MIAMANA - At least 22 villages have been cleared of Taliban insurgents during a military operation in northern Faryab province, officials said on Wednesday. Seven insurgents have been injured in the operation.

Sakhi Dad, commander of 209 Shaheen National Corps, says that the operation was launched three days ago in Pashton Kot district of the province and 22 villages have been cleared of insurgents.

"The operation still continues in the district to clear all insurgents," he said.

However, he did not provide details about any casualties among security forces sustained during the operation.

The Taliban have not yet commented about the operation. (Tolonews)
