MYO-Organised  Education Star Contest to Feature 100,000 Youth

KABUL - Up to 100,000 students, including girls, will take part in the Education Star contest, to be organised by the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) in 25 provinces of the country from the commencement of the new education year.
The contest would be held in two phases, at the provincial and national levels, said Qudratullah Jahid, in charge of preparations for the event. The purpose is to encouraged efforts at improving the standard of education in the country.
Jahid told Pajhwok Afghan News higher education scholarships, laptops, I-pads and a variety of household items would be distributed to winners as prizes.
Mudassir Islami, MYO social affairs head, said they organised Islamic programmes such as Seerat competitions and other educational and cultural events to instill a sense of confidence among youngsters.
Anas Safi, in charge of the MYO campaign, claimed governors, provincial council heads and other individuals, including businessmen, had promised support for the Education Star competition.
Kabir Haqmal, spokesman for the Ministry of Education (MoE), confirmed MYO representatives had met them on the Education Star contest. He said the ministry supported every individual promoting education in line with the law of the country. (Pajhwok)
