22 Insurgents Dead  in Baghlan Clashes,  Airstrikes

PUL-I-KHUMRI - At least 22 rebels have been killed and seven others wounded airstrikes and a ground offensive in the Dand-i-Ghori locality of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Sunday.
Maj. Javed Salim, spokesman for the 209th Shahin Military Corps Commando Unit, told reporters the insurgents were killed during an overnight operation in Aka Khel, Niazullah and Salangiha areas.
He said Taliban’s notorious commanders, who could not be identified yet, were among the dead. Ground forces were making progress as the areas had been recaptured from the Taliban.
Maj. Salim claimed the security forces had defused 20 of landmines the Taliban had planted in the neighbourhood.
AsadullahChakari, a resident of Naizullaharea, said 150 families had migrated from the village three weeks earlier. (Pajhwok)
