Ghani Discusses Transfer of Prisoner with Tajikistan PM

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday urged Tajikistan to facilitate the visa process for Afghan traders, establish consulates in Kunduz and Badakhshan provinces and ensure the quick transfer of prisoners.
The president raised the issues during a meeting with Tajikistan Prime Minister Qaher Rasoulzada, a statement from Presidential Palace said.
The president promised complete security for Tajikistan’s diplomatic mission in northern Afghanistan. The issue of Afghan nationals’ prosecution was also discussed at the meeting.
The premier hoped President Ghani’s visit would go a long way in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and promised all possible assistance to the war-torn neighbour.
Earlier, Ghani arrived in Tajikistan on a two-day visit official visit. He met his Tajik counterpart, prime minister, parliament speaker and other senior officials on cooperation in different fields. (Pajhwok)
