KABUL - Afghan National Army troops on Tuesday celebrated the 97th anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence where they said insurgents are not capable of defeating the Afghan security forces.
At a gathering which was held at an army training center in Kabul, the director general of the ANA training center, Ghulam Farooq Ahmadi, said: “Those who want to capture this country and build their favorite state should know that they will take this dream to hell.”
He added: “Afghanistan has never surrendered to any external or internal power.”
Meanwhile, commander of Malalai Battalion, Kubra Tanha, said they will no longer allow insurgents to shed the blood of Afghan civilians.
“We will not let the enemy to destabilize our country,” she said.
Independence Day in Afghanistan falls on August 18 and will be celebrated countrywide on Thursday.(Tolonews)
