Returning Refugees to Get Permanent Homes: Balkhi

KABUL - The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) on Tuesday said the government would provide permanent housing facilities and essential aid to returning Afghan refugee families.
According to a statement from MoRR, a meeting at the ministry on Tuesday discussed provision of urgent help and other needed facilities to the returnees.
The meeting was participated by MoRR Minister Sayed Hussain Alami Balkhi, his deputy Dr. Alima, information and culture ministry spokeswoman Mujgan Mustafawi and other officials.
Balkhi said a joint plan had been prepared in cooperation with some international organizations to help the returning families receive some essential aid and permanent accommodations in two stages.
He said the plan had also been approved by the National Security Council (NSC).
The program has been finalized by the technical committee of refugees department at MoRR and would be implemented in near future, Balkhi said. The plan would first begin from Nangarhar province.
“Under the plan, distribution of essential aid including food and other needed items, transport, temporary shelter, healthcare services and public awareness would take place in the first stage and permanent housing facilities in the second stage,” he added.
Participants of the meeting announced their preparation for implementation of the MoRR plan.(Pajhwok)
