Public Support Key to  Government’s Success: CEO

KABUL CITY - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday termed as ‘vital’ public support for the government’s survival and warned that no one would be allowed to violate people’s fundamental rights.
Abdullah was addressing a gathering commemorating the 15th death anniversary of Ahmad Shah Massoud, a former warlord and head of the northern alliance military wing.
He said Massoud was a committed, wise, independent personality who fought for the freedom and survival of his people.
Abdullah said public support was vital and an important element for the government’s survival and without people’s backing the government machinery could not run properly.
He lamented some circles were propagating against Mujahideen who defended the country and rendered huge sacrifices.
The CEO vowed not to allow such elements people to harm the role of Mujahideen and their personalities.
He said the country faced immense problems and challenges and only sincerity, clear direction and strong commitment could steer the country out of problems.
Ahmad Zia Massoud, president’s special envoy for reforms and development, said Ahmad Shah Massoud was an independent personality who never wanted to be silent by the enemy.
He said Massoud had the vision for development and wanted to work for Afghanistan’s prosperity.(Pajhwok)
