Govt. to Decide About Unseated Ministers after SC Judgment: CEO

KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Monday said the government would decide about the fate of unseated ministers following an opinion from the Supreme Court (SC).
Umaid Misam, deputy spokesman for CEO Dr. Abdullah Abdullah told reporters on Monday that the Apex Court was reviewing the Wolesi Jirga or lower house decision about ministers disqualification.
He hoped the SC would soon release its opinion about the vote out of ministers by the lawmakers and open the ground for government to decide on the regard.
In response to a question why the government did not request the Supreme Court to clear the fate of disqualified ministers, Misam said, “CEO and the presidential palace have previously sought the Supreme Court opinion. “We hope it will release its view as soon as possible.”
On November 2, the lower house summoned 16 ministers and impeached the ministers of foreign affairs, labour, public works, education, transport, communication and higher education in absentia.
In protest to the lower house decision, the cabinet in an extraordinary meeting referred the issue to the SC and said the unseated ministers could continue their duties until an opinion from the apex court on the regard released.

The ministers were disqualified 20 days ago, but the SC yet to decide on the regard. (Pajhwok)
