KABUL - The cabinet’s legislative committee on Monday approved a code for management of educational scholarships after a review to ensure justice and transparency.
In a statement from his office, 2nd Vice-President Sarwar Danish called reforms and review of the educational scholarships regulation central to transparency and justice.
Danish said ministries and other government institutions were responsible for awarding scholarships based on academic and legal criteria so all eligible people were enabled to benefit from the opportunities.
After exchange views on the issue, committee members approved the scholarships management regulation and decided to refer the code to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for reform suggestions.
The regulation would be sent back to the cabinet once the MoJ provided suggestions for reforms in the code. The educational scholarship management regulation has six chapters and 35 articles.(Pajhwok)
