Terrorist Groups are our Common Enemies: Atmar

Terrorist Groups are our Common Enemies: Atmar

KABUL - The National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar on Monday said the terrorists were not enemies of a specific country; but they were common enemies of all and combating this heinous phenomenon needed regional cooperation.
Atmar expressed the views during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Alexander Mantytskiy and both sides conferred on regional cooperation aimed at eliminating terrorism.
A statement from the National Security Council (NSC) received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the Ambassador dubbed holding of ‘Kabul Process Conference’ a positive step towards bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan, saying his country was ready for any type of support in combating terrorism.
Atmar told Mantytskiy that Afghanistan was in need of cooperation from neighboring countries and the region to ensure peace and stability for the Afghan people.
While appreciating the 8th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, held on May 24 in Moscow, Atmar said it was a good opportunity for Afghanistan in terms of exchanging views about peace and fighting terrorism with representatives from other countries.
The Russian Ambassador said his country stoutly supported Afghanistan’s policy against terrorism and was in favour of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.
At the end of the meeting, Atmar stressed, “Terrorist groups aren’t enemies of only one country, but they are common enemies of all of us; so regional cooperation is essential for fighting this nefarious phenomenon.” (Pajhwok)
