Ghani, Nawaz  to Meet in Tajikistan  to Discuss Ties

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani will be meeting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of a four-nation meeting in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, an official said on Wednesday.
Tajikistan is hosting a Quadrilateral Summit of CASA-1000 member states of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.
Deputy presidential spokesman Dawa Khan Menapal told Pajhwok Afghan News President Ghani and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had arrived in Tajikistan to attend the Central Asia South Asia 1000 Megawatt (CASA-1000) meeting.
Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon and Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev would also be attending the meeting.
Ghani and Sharif, who previously met on the sidelines of SCO summit in Astana, would talk terrorism and relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Menapal said.
Recently Chinese foreign minister traveled to Kabul and Islamabad in a bid to mend ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
During tomorrow’s meeting, talks on implementation of CASA-1000 project would be held. The project was inked last year. (Pajhwok)
