Kazakhstan Pledges Support for Afghan Air Force

KABUL - The defence minister of Kazakhstan has pledged sharing its experiences with the nascent Afghan Air Force (AAF), the National Security Council (NSC) said on Wednesday.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar, during his visit to Kazakhstan, met Beibut Atamkulov, defence and aerospace industry minister, a statement from the council said.
He said regional countries had reached the conclusion that stability in Afghanistan was vital to regional peace and prosperity.
Atamkulov said his country was fully supportive of regional efforts to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan. He pledged supporting the government and people of Afghanistan.
Atmar thanked the Kazak defence minister for his support to the Afghan government and people. He said terrorism had emerged as a huge threat to the region and the global community.
He added the Afghan security forces were honestly confronting terrorists and would never allow them to find a foothold in his country.

Atmar stressed the training and equipment of Afghan forces to better combat terrorism and demanded support from Kazakhstan in this regard. Both sides agreed on discussing the issue of AAF training and equipment. (Pajhwok)
