KAUBL - Afghan Ambassador Dr. Omar Zakhilwal has conferred on the current situation in the country with top Pakistani security officials.
Zakhilwal tweeted he met with Pakistani Army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed his recent trip to Kabul, bilateral relations and recent developments.
The diplomat wrote he also met former Pakistani National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua and discussed important issues with him.
A statement from the Pakistan Army’s media wing, meanwhile, said Bajwa met the envoy and said recent attacks in Afghanistan should not scuttle peace efforts.
The statement added Pakistan was saddened by the recent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan. Bajwa said both Pakistan and Afghanistan should continue efforts for peace and stability in the region. (Pajhwok)
