Fifth Annual  Congress of AFSOG Held in Kabul

KABUL - Fifth annual congress of Afghan Society of Obstetrician and Gynecologist (AFSOG) was Held here in Kabul on Tuesday by participation of Dr. Suraya Dalil, Acting Minister of Public Health (MoPH) Dr. Sima Samar, Chairperson of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), representatives of MoPH's Health partners and members of AFSOG.

Addressing to the opening ceremony, Dr. Suraya Dalil, Acing Minister of MoPH, while paying tribute and condolence to the relatives and friends of late prof. Burhannudin Rabanni, described the five-year MoPH strategic plan which recently has compiled by cooperation of MoPH health partners.

Dr. Dalil added that the all parts of MoPH activities have been described in this strategic document for five more year and we need the support of our health partners in implementation of this strategy.
Acting minister of MoPH calling the AFSOG as a health partner of MoPH, asked the members of AFSOG to observe the medical ethic and in additional of clinic activities they should take part to raise the awareness of women in preventing of diseases infection.

Meanwhile at ceremony, Dr. Sima Samar, chairperson of Afghanistan Independent Human Right Commission (AIHRC) said, each person has the right of access to the basic health services, and it is not only the MoPH responsibility to provide health services for all citizens of Afghanistan but other Social institutions, including civil society organizations should cooperate with MoPH in this regard.

In this two-day congress, the participants would discuss about the determining future direction of OB/GYN in Afghanistan and other issues related to the maternity health. At the end of this congress, AFSOG will prepare the first draft of its five-year strategic plan.

Ministry of Public Health delivers health services impartially and without any form of discrimination to the needy people of Afghanistan in all corners of the country and requests all parties to respect this policy and support health care providers to fulfill this noble job. (PR)
