ALP Commander Detained  Over ID Cards Collection

LASHKARGAH - province over allegedly collecting national identity cards from people by force, an official said Monday.
Governor’s spokesman Omar Zwak said Commander Abdul Wadoud from Nawa district had been collecting ID cards also known as Tazkera from people at force to support a candidate in the upcoming elections.
“Wadoud injured an individual after beating him severely because he denied to give him his Tazkera,” he said.
Police spokesman 2nd Lt. Mohammad Zaman confirmed the story and added people had complained against Zaman in the past as well.
Mohammadullah, brother of the injured person, said Commander Abdul Wadoud had been subjecting the people of Nawa to different types of brutalities since long.
“He asked my brother to submit him his Tazkera with the election sticker, but he refused and as a result Commander Wadoud beat him badly.” He demanded help form judiciary.
There are reports that some local officials have been putting pressure on people to submit their Tazkeras after attaching stickers to them. (Pajhwok)
