Senators Want War  Management Revisited

KABUL - Meshrano Jirga or Senate members on Sunday said they were worried about the worsening security situation in the country and urged the government to revise the war strategy.
The upper house Sunday discussed the security situation in Faryab, Farah, Nangarhar, Paktika, Ghazni, Helmand, Kunduz and a number of other provinces.
Senate first deputy chairman Mohammad AlamIzedyar told today’s session that the government should provide immediate assistance to security forces and revise in the war strategy and management.
He said: “We have been losing dozens of security personnel on a daily basis due to the lack of reinforcement and not dispatching them ammunitions on time.”
Senator NadarBaloch from northwestern Nimroz province said: “The cause of huge casualties to security forces is poor management of the war on the government part.”
Senator Faisal Sami from northern Baghlan province said he had several time shared his concern about the security situation in Baghlan with government officials but in vain, allowing Taliban insurgents to capture the TalawaBarfak district and kill dozens of security forces.
Senate chairman FazlHadiMuslimyar also expressed his concern about the growing incescurity in the country and urged the government to revise the war management.
He said a large number of provinces were being threatened. He promised to take up the issue with President Ashraf Ghani. (Pajhwok)
