India Test a Big Day for Cricket in Afghanistan: Rashid Khan

KABUL - The Afghan spin sensation Rashid Khan has said that the historic test match against India will be a big day for the cricket in Afghanistan.
“It will be a big day for cricket in Afghanistan to play Test cricket against India. Really waiting for that… can’t wait to be called a Test cricketer. It means a lot to us,” he was quoted as saying New Indian Express.
Rashid Khan further added “Everyone knows Afghanistan have the best spin attack because we have won a lot of matches. We are working hard on fast bowling and batting. Hopefully this Test will be interesting and batsmen will show their class.”
The historic test match between Afghanistan and India will kick off from 14th June and will be the first test match the Afghan team will play after granted a Test Status by the International Cricket Council.
Though some of the key players of India including skipper Virat Kohli will miss the match, the Afghan captain Asghar Stanikzai had earlier played down the absence of Kohli from the match, emphasizing that all Indian players have similar capabilities as those of Kohli. (KP)
