Karzai Calls for Revival of Reconciliation Process

KABUL - Hours after the government announced an end to the ceasefire with the Taliban, ex-president Hamid Karzai called for the revival of the reconciliation process.
On Saturday, President Ashraf Ghani said the government’s ceasefire with the Taliban had ended, He ordered the security forces to resume offensives across the country.
After Ghani’s announcement, Karzai urged the warring parties to adopt a peaceful approach. He said the ongoing conflict had been imposed on the Afghans by foreigners.
Only Afghans were victims of the war, the former president alleged, asking the nation to stand united against those who were creating divisions among the Afghans and killing the ordinary. (Pajhwok)
