RIYADH - An international conference on peace efforts in Afghanistan kicked off in the Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

A Pajhwok reporter in Jeddah said the event was opened by the Saudi minister of hajj and religious affairs.
OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef, Afghanistan Ulema Council chief Qayyamuddin Kashaaf and Imam of Mecca Abdullah Saleh would deliver speeches.
The participants would later discuss the Afghanistan peace process. They are likely to drum up support for the reconciliation process. (Pajhwok)
