Ghani Asks Islamabad  to Extradite Kandahar  Attack Plotters to Kabul

KANDAHAR CITY - President Ashraf Ghani has said the assassination of Kandahar police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq had been planned inside Pakistan and asked Islamabad to handover the plotters of the attack to Kabul.
President Ghani on Tuesday arrived in southern Kandahar province at the head of a high-level delegation and condoled with the mother of Gen. Abdul Raziq and praised her for nurturing a ‘brave and patriotic’ son.
On Thursday, Gen. Raziq was killed in an insider attack in the governor’s house compound. The gun attack was carried out by one of the security guards of the Kandahar governor, Zalmai Wesa.
Ghani also honored Gen. Abdul Raziq with the title of “Champion of Afghanistan’s Independence.”
Ghani said the plot behind Raziq’s assassination was concocted in Pakistan and he called on Islamabad to extradite the plotters to Kabul in the earliest possible for putting them on trial.
He explained the last meeting which was attended by Raziq was about Wolesi Jirga elections and for ensuring security. Ghani urged Kandahar people to widely participate in Wolesi Jirga elections in order to honor the soul of Gen. Raziq.

Deputy Governor Abdul Hanan, provincial council chairman Haji Syed Jan Khakrez and some influential figures said the people of Kandahar were strongly supporting the government and were always ready to render sacrifices on the regard. (Pajhwok)
