Pence Promises Orderly Troop Pullout from Afghanistan

KABUL - Amidst confusion regarding its military presence in the war-torn country, the Trump administration has ruled out a Syria-style withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
Trump was still in the process of evaluating whether to withdraw some troops from Afghanistan, Vice President Mike Pence said in an interview with Fox News.
America’s involvement in never-ending wars should be rethought, the VP stressed, saying Trump had been clear on the issue, The president was evaluating his options about the conflict in Afghanistan.
Pence insisted there would be no abrupt withdrawal from any war zone. “We are going to do this and are doing this in an orderly way. I heard him in … talk about bringing our troops home wherever we could.”
However, the VP acknowledged that a pullout from Afghanistan was under active consideration. Pence called the 18-year military campaign in the impoverished country a tough fight,
