Afghan Forces Killed in  Friendly-Fire Airstrike in Ghazni

GHAZNI CITY - At least nine members of the public uprising forces were killed after an airstrike mistakenly targeted their outpost in Jaghori district in Ghazni province on Monday night, the provincial security officials told TOLOnews on Tuesday.
According to the officials, the public uprising forces had asked for air support in Hootqawl area in Jaghori district, but their own outpost was mistakenly hit by the airstrike.
The officials said three public uprising force members were wounded in the airstrike.
Meanwhile, dozens of Jaghori residents launched a protest against the incident and said the perpetrators should be trialed.
Some residents claimed that the airstrike has left 12 members of the public uprising forces dead and that the airstrike targeted an outpost close to the district governor’s office.
Jaghori district governor Khan Ali Radmanish confirmed the incident and said two outposts of the public uprising forces were targeted by the airstrike on Monday night which left eight forces dead and four others wounded.

Ahmad Khan Sirat, spokesman for Ghazni police, has also confirmed the airstrike on the public uprising forces outpost in an interview with the BBC.  (Tolo news)
