CEO, FM Rabbani Welcome  Extension in German Troops’ Stay

KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah and Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani have welcomed Germany’s parliament decision to extend its troops presence in Afghanistan for another year.
In their social media handlers the two leaders hailed continued support from Germany in security, economic and political dimensions with Afghanistan.
“#Germany has been a bedrock supporter of Afghanistan for decades. We are grateful for their contributions to Afghanistan’s security and reconstruction, and warmly welcome the extension of their military mission in Afghanistan,” Abdullah said in a tweet.
Rabbani also welcomed Germany’s parliament affirmative vote for continued military assistance through NATO Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan.
He said: “We welcome the affirmative vote of the overwhelming majority @Bundestag for continued German security assistance through #NATO’s @ResoluteSupport Train,Advise&Assist.”
Earlier on Saturday, the Afghan government has welcomed the decision of Germany government to extend its troops presence in Afghanistan for another year.
The Germany parliament decided on Friday to keep its military presence in Afghanistan for the next one year as part of the NATO Resolute Support mission.
Currently 1,200 German soldiers are stationed in Afghanistan, most of them in northern Balkh province.

The Afghan government welcomed German extension in its troops stay in the war-torn country for one more year in the NATO Resolute Support (RS) Mission. (Pajhwok)
