Taliban’s Peace Negotiators  No More on UNSC Black List

KABUL - Taliban peace interlocutors’ names have been removed from the UN Security Council black list for nine months, the group’s spokesman claimed on Friday.
Zabihullah Mujahid BBC Pashto: “The names of 14 Taliban members, including Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar, involved in ongoing peace talks have been removed from the black list.”
During talks with US, the removal of Taliban’s leaders name from the UNSC black list was one of the Taliban major demands.
The Taliban interlocutors included Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, Mullah Amir Khan Mutaqi, Shahabuddin Dilawar, Abdul Latif Mansour, Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Mullah Khirullah Khirkhwa, Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq, Maulvi Zia-ur-Rahman Madani, Maullah Noorullah Noor, Suhail Shaheen and Mullah Fazel. Annas Haqqani is also part of the delegation but he is in Afghan government’s custody.
The removal of Taliban’s leaders name from UNSC black list happened when the second meeting of the Taliban and Afghan leaders is due to take place in Doha.
It also pertinent to mention, that the Taliban have launched their spring offensive codenamed Al-Fatah on Friday. (Pajhwok)
