KABUL - The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday announced final Wolesi Jirga election results from southern Kandahar province.
Syed Muqtada Miran, Dr. Mahmod Khan Nasrat, Rohullah Khanzada, Haji Syed Ahmad Khadim, Gul Ahmad Kamin, Syed Ahmad Selab, Khalil Ahmad Mujahid, Arif Noorzai, Friba Ahmadi Kakar, MalaliIshaqzai and Parwin Nama have been declared winners.
The Wolesi Jirga election was held on October 20 and 21 across the country except Ghazni and Kandahar provinces. Elections in Kandahar were held later.
After new IEC commissioners took charge, final results from Balkh, Paktika, Ghor, Herat, Farah, Logar, Helmand, Takhar, Nangarhar, Kandahar and for the Hindu minority seat have been announced so.
With final results from 29 constituencies yet to be announced, IECC said two days back that the Wolesi Jirga election results for the rest of provinces and the Kuchi constituency would be unveiled within a week.  (Pajhwok)
