KABUL - The High Peace Council (HPC) Secretary General Umar Daudzai has held a meeting with German Ambassador to Afghanistan Potzel Markus and discussed intra-Afghan dialogue and the outcome of Consultative Peace Jerga.
“During my trip to Berlin met with Amb #PotzelMarkus, discussed intra Afghan dialogue and the Peace Consultative Loya Jirga outcome. Mr.Potzel congratulated the successful Loya jirga to all people of #Afghanistan & promised support 4 peace process of AFG,” he said in a tweet.
Daudzai earlier arrived in Germany on the head of a high-level delegation In quest of creating regional consensus on peace.
HPC spokesman Javed Ghafoor said that the special envoy would also travel to India after meeting German officials. The trip comes amid efforts for creating regional and international consensus on peace in Afghanistan.
To drum up regional support for stability in the war-torn country, US Special Envoy for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad also traveled to several counties recently. (Pajhwok)
