Ghani Orders  Probe into Nangarhar  Suicide Bombing

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah, condemning a suicide blast at a wedding ceremony in eastern Nangarhar province, have ordered investigation into the deadly incident.
Nine people were killed and 12 others injured on Friday when a child was used to detonate a suicide bomb in the Pachiragam district of the province, bordering Pakistan.
“The enemies of Afghanistan have again killed a number of citizens in the Pachiragam attack – part of their continued criminal and inhuman activities,” Ghani said in a statement from the Presidential Palace.
The president strongly condemned the blast and said the enemy of Afghanistan only earned public hate by carrying out attacks at public gatherings and places in which innocent civilians including women and children, were killed.=
Ghani directed the authorities concerned to identify, arrest and punish the individual behind the barbaric incident and stressed prompt medical care for the injured and remain in close contact with the victim families.
Separately, CEO Abdullah also denounced the blast and said the act showed that the Afghans had been faced with a deceitful enemy who had no value for human lives and targeted even wedding ceremonues. (Pajhwok)
